Selin Ashaboglu is a skilled writer, editor, and publicist who loves the written word. A visual creator at heart, she is passionate about architecture and design and currently brings this spirit to the real estate industry as an Associate Director at M18 PR, where she crafts holistic narratives around projects that shape the urban landscape.

 

Prior to joining M18 PR, Selin was the first PR + Marketing Manager at Carnegie Fabrics, responsible for overseeing all brand copy, boosting the company’s social media presence through the execution of a robust organic growth strategy, leading key brand partnerships as well as running all external brand communication and media outreach. She currently still freelances for Carnegie Fabrics.

 

Selin honed her communications skills at UpSpring PR where she advanced to Senior Account Executive and successfully led accounts for major architecture firms such as Perkins+Will, Nelson Worldwide, and MBH Architects; as well as commercial product manufacturers including Teknion, Luum, and Modular Lighting Instruments.

 

She started her career as an assistant editor at ARCHITECT magazine, the official journal of the American Institute of Architects, covering a wide variety of industry news both online and in print from design innovation stories to technology, practice, and commercial products. During her time there, she represented the publication across numerous national and international trade shows as well as helped manage highly-respected annual awards programs such as the R+D Awards and the Residential Architect Design Awards.

Originally raised in Istanbul, Selin currently resides in Brooklyn with her rescue pup, Rosie. In her free time, she loves to draw, sing, binge-watch a healthy mix of thrillers, romcoms, or cult-related documentary series in less than three days, and venture out into the real world to soak in all the wonderful cultural and dining destinations NYC has to offer.
